INTRO
Houdini is a kinetic typography motion graphics piece that plays along to a snippet of Dua Lipa's "Houdini". I designed and sketched the initial animatic in Illustrator, then brought the typography to life in After Effects. The goal was to create motion that feels as energetic and playful as the song while using the lyrics themselves as a guide for how the type moves.

THE DESIGN SYSTEM
The visual system is intentionally simple, allowing type and movement to carry the experience. The palette uses ivy green and deep purple, chosen to complement the mood and energy of the song. Movement was choreographed around two things: the beat of the song and the meaning of the lyrics. Typography shifts, enters, exits, and transforms in response to the rhythm, creating a direct relationship between sound, language, and movement.
