INTRO
Misprint is a class magazine featuring student-designed editorial spreads around a variety of themes. For my spread, I explored a hot pepper theme through a short visual guide to peppers with various spice-levels. The spread was designed to feel energetic and visually engaging at first glance, while the repeated structure makes it easy for readers to compare the different peppers and quickly understand their spice levels and characteristics.

THE DESIGN SYSTEM
Each pepper is presented with its own imagery, spice-level indicator, and personality-driven description that highlights what makes it unique. The color palette and the Supporting was predetermined by the class magazine, so my design decisions focused in using the existing colors and type strategically within the layout. The display type for the title was selected because of its bold expressive nature of the subject matter while giving the spread a strong editorial voice.
